weekend in a nutshell

Actually, I planned to go to Botanic Garden again yesterday (Saturday). But the weather was a bit questionable on Friday night. So first thing I did on Saturday morning was to check the weather forecast from internet. It said "partly cloudy in the morning and shower with thunderstorm in the afternoon". Trying to be prudent, I cancelled my plan.

So I continued my painting at home. Luckily I have taken some snaps of the object and have printed them out. It really rained!! Initially I rather regretted my decision as the weather was fine in the forenoon. I pacified myself "even if you are there the lighting would be different from last week's". Anyway, when it rained I can't help feeling lucky =). I listened to MP3 instead of nature's and birds chirping. Moral of the story, I still enjoy painting be it indoor or outdoor *grin*. I painted almost nonstop from 9 to 5. Haha like office work, isn't it?

I've bought these tickets since few weeks ago. It's scheduled for today!! Yayy!! West Side Story Musical, at Esplanade Theatre. This is also a birthday present for my youngest sister. She turned 18 few weeks ago.

Honestly? I still prefer Mammamia. I still like Tony and Maria, though. Their voices and also the songs they sang together. Tonight and Somewhere, especially. And although I am not into dancing, but I must praise their dance coreography. And how those gorgeous body hop and jump, curve and straighten all together. From strong and determined strokes to flowing and heavy hand movement. They did all in sync. The Muscles. The Six-Packs *haha*. I don't know how they practiced that.

Stage props-wise, they are not fantastic. BUT... it doesn't mean that it is not good. In fact, I really like it when they just danced barefooted on a plain stage. No props seen. Again, barefooted. You can hear the clap between the flesh and the wood. Especially when they sing Somewhere, all in white. So simple and yet so impressive. But one thing which is definitely missing, they don't have a finale song. I wonder why. Even ours had *whoakakakakaka smug smug*. Mammamia's was AWESOME. Perhaps because the ending is different. You won't expect the Mammamia-like colourful dancers dancing and jigglings to a very happening music for WSS' ending, surely?

Anyway, before the show, we went to Palm Sunday Mass at Cathedral of Good Shepherd at 10 am. I've told my teacher that I won't come to the class today and promised I'll do my painting bit this week, still (I did it yesterday). Therefore I can attend Palm Sunday mass on Sunday. I planned to go with this Miss Cheerie and my sister, and will meet my high-school friend who is coming to spend a weekend here. I didn't have any idea that she will come with another three old school mates. Two of which reside in Singapore. So it turned out to be a tiny school reunion hahaha. Which is nice! Unplanned but enjoyable!! Got this "funny" sms from Miss Poet, about her own Palm Sunday mass "experience" haha. And she sent it to both Miss Cheerie and me. Itee... miss hanging out with you, really!!

By the way, as I came early to the Cathedral, I got time to take some snaps. Wasn't really satisfied (still!! I don't know when I'll be) but surely I couldn't just play around with my camera inside the church?

Happy Palm Sunday!! And have a meaningful holy week ahead...
