Sunday Stroll

Our epicurean souls have brought us to a pleasant Sunday stroll yesterday. Shown in the picture is our shadows (plus one biker) on the snow-covered Charles River while crossing Harvard bridge. The weather was genuinely nice, unlike last week. It was pretty warm, though it's only 36F or 2-3C. When I crossed the bridge yesterday (was in dire need to get Kiehl's body creme) I've found the weather nice and the stroll pleasant. Turned out that it was -4C. Guess my body has acclimated well with Boston. Talking about the weather, Friday was the worst, -16 to -17C. PLUS the strong wind. It was ICY cold, even your eyes suffered. It was even cold inside the building.

So, these limited-budget-self-professed-epicures have decided to spare few hours and some bucks to venture out to dining places, cafes, ice cream parlors and restaurants. Steve's Greek Restaurant was our choice yesterday. Turned out that lunch is only served on 12.45 pm where we've got a nice table at noon. Thus we ordered this home-fried potatoes from breakfast menu and some coffees. They tasted soooo good. I am a potato lover, you see? So I was grinning ear to ear after the first bite.

The soup was unique and nice. I didn't put the picture here though, as you can't see anything from the picture. Too bad I completely forgot the long and unfamiliar name. It was like avgo-something. It has rice, chicken and lemon juice with creamy texture. Served with a small packet of oyster crackers which are not too special in my opinion. The Greek salad, which comes as a compliment for main dish, is also satisfying. The whitish crumbles on top are fetta cheese. I found the tomatoes here are very fresh, sweet and juicy. But when you see the price you'll understand.

Too bad I still can't post the picture for the main dish (Gyros Plate). Haha honestly my first impression of the word 'gyro' is Inul. Why? It sounds so similar to 'gyration', her signature dancing or rather movements.

And I did finished everything. The shared-potatoes (but I ate quite a lot), the soup, the salad, the grilled lamb and french fries. And I still felt like smacking my fingers. It felt sooo good. Understandable that I could only eat one orange and two peanut-butter biscuits for dinner.

PS: photos are taken by Canon A640. I know it's not the best but oh I so love this camera!!
