My Shadow

Another reflection of mine. Done on one morning. Enjoy!!

MY SHADOW

I saw my own shadow
On the pavement.
Not from the sun rays though
It was the street lights who casted it.

Early in the morning I left
Stars were still above
Bleary-eyed
From the disturbed sleep
And yet my feet still walked
Each second was one step further
Looking down to my own shadow
Expresionless face, as a silhouette can be

But I know what it says
Tired
Tensed
Scared
About the new day that’s yet to come
With all the challenges ahead

Look up!!
You’ll see that life’s everywhere
Everyone is rushing
In school uniforms
In work uniforms
In housewifey clothes
In pants and suits

Look down again…
See your shadows keep on walking
On the pavement
From the streetlights, not the sunrays

You know you can do it!!
And at the end of the day
You will say…
“It’s another day that the Lord has made, and Thank GOD I’ve made it another fruitful day.”

PS: The inspiring shadow was seen in front of McDonalds Toa Payoh, Singapore, at around 6.30 am.
